1What DocMate does
DocMate stores your documents, reads them, and answers questions about them. It can also record a conversation you take part in, write it out, and summarise it. It finds deadlines in what it reads and turns them into reminders. It works in 20 languages and replies in whichever one you write or speak in.
DocMate is not a lawyer, an accountant, a doctor or an immigration adviser. It reads documents and tells you what it finds. It can be wrong, and it can miss things. For anything that matters — a visa deadline, a medical instruction, a legal obligation — check the original document and speak to a qualified person. Do not rely on DocMate alone for a decision you cannot undo.
2Your account
You need an account. Keep your password to yourself; anything done through your account is treated as done by you. Email support@docmateai.app if you think someone else has got in.
You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live. If you are under 16, you may not use DocMate.
3What you may not do
- Upload anything you have no right to upload
- Use DocMate to break the law, or to help someone else do so
- Try to reach another person's documents, account or data
- Attack, overload or reverse-engineer the service
- Resell DocMate, or run it as a service for other people, without my written agreement
I may suspend or close an account that does these things.
4Recording conversations
DocMate lets you record a conversation — an appointment with a doctor, a lawyer, a landlord, a school — so you can read it back afterwards and keep track of what you agreed to do.
You are responsible for obtaining permission before you record.
Recording laws differ from place to place. In some countries, and in several US states, every person in the conversation must agree before it may be recorded. In others, your own agreement is enough. It is your responsibility to know and follow the law where you are.
By recording through DocMate you confirm that you have obtained any permission required, from every person whose voice is recorded.
DocMate does not record without you starting it, and always shows you that a recording is in progress. It has no hidden mode and cannot record a telephone call.
I am not responsible for recordings you make. If a recording you make leads to a claim, a complaint or a legal proceeding against DocMate, you are responsible for the resulting costs, to the extent the law allows.
You agree to defend and reimburse DocMate and Moynul Talukder against any claim, complaint or legal cost arising from a recording you make through DocMate, including where a recorded person says they did not consent. This applies to the fullest extent the law allows.
You may not use DocMate to record anyone secretly.

6Payment, renewal and cancellation
Purchases are handled by Apple, not by me.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- A subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Your account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal in your Apple Account settings at any time after purchase.
- Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Refunds are handled by Apple, under their policy, not by me. I cannot issue a refund for a purchase made through the App Store.
7Your documents belong to you
You keep every right in the documents, recordings and messages you put into DocMate. I claim no ownership of them.
You give me permission to store and process them only so far as it takes to run the service for you — to read a document, write a summary, answer your questions, and keep it available on your devices.
I do not use your documents to train AI models, and neither do the AI providers DocMate uses. The Privacy Policy says exactly where your data goes and how long it is kept.
8Deleting things
A deleted document goes to the trash for 30 days, then it and its file are removed permanently. Deleting a document also deletes every chat about it.
An unsaved document in your Inbox is removed after 7 days. Filing it into a folder is what keeps it.
Closing your account deletes your documents, recordings, chats and reminders. This cannot be undone.
9Availability
I will try to keep DocMate working, but I do not promise it will always be available, or free of faults. It may be interrupted for maintenance, or by a failure at one of the services it depends on.
I may change or withdraw features. If I withdraw something you are paying for, you may cancel and Apple's refund policy applies.
10Limits on my liability
DocMate is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, I am not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits, or for a decision you took based on something DocMate told you.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer that cannot be removed by agreement. In some countries those rights are substantial, and they apply whatever this section says.
11Ending this agreement
You may stop using DocMate and close your account at any time.
I may end this agreement if you break these terms, or if I stop offering the service. If I stop offering it, I will give reasonable notice and you may cancel a subscription for the unused period.
12Changes to these terms
I may update these terms. If a change matters, I will say so in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use DocMate after that means you accept the new terms.
13Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer somewhere else, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in.
